On Monday the 19th of January, known as Blue Monday for being supposedly the most depressing day of the year, we hosted special socials across all our venues.
We offered our regular padel social at a reduced price to encourage everyone to join us. Below David Aisa Miller, our Social Impact and Sustainability Lead, summarises the impact of the initiative and the benefits of padel for everyone.
The Measurable Social Impact:
- 63 players across all five venues on court
- 126 hours of padel played
- £315 donated to Young Minds
Padel as a Force for Good
Padel has a plethora of benefits but primarily it is fantastic for both your mental and physical health. As a sport it will keep you active and we know this is brilliant for our bodies and minds. Overall, it is great for all players wellbeing which is why it vitally helped us lift everyone’s mood on Blue Monday.
However, another very important benefit of padel is community building. S3 Padel’s unique approach to the sport has allowed us to use it to grow communities. As a sport that is very accessible due to its low technical entry barrier it means everyone can play. This helps create a sense of community at our venues because everyone is on our courts. All groups in the local community mix and friendships are born bringing people closer together in a healthy way.
Our Blue Monday initiative is a great example of how we do this and how we give back to our communities, but we do so much more than just this. We partner with schools, charities and organisations that align with our values to share the benefits of padel with everyone. We are constantly trying to raise awareness of this side of padel because it so incredibly valuable.
Ultimately, S3 Padel is always working hard to build positive relationships within the communities that we find ourselves in so that we can allow more people to take advantage of the mental and physical health benefits of padel.
